Mauritius wraps a wedding, a honeymoon and a legal ceremony into one island, with a sheltered north and west for swimmable lagoons and a broader, breezier east for big skies and space. Aim for the dry, cooler months from roughly May to November, and keep clear of the hot, humid cyclone season from January to March.
Mauritius reads as one beach but plays as four coasts. The north around Grand Baie is the liveliest, with flat lagoons and easy logistics; the west, under the Le Morne peninsula, gives the island's most dramatic backdrop and its best sunsets; the east is broader and windier, with wide pale beaches and more room between resorts; and the wilder south trades calm water for cliffs and character. Pick the coast for the day you picture, then open its venues, the journey between them is short, but the mood is not.
Time it around the weather and the paperwork. The austral winter, May to November, is dry, cooler and the kindest stretch for a coastal day, while January to March is hot, humid and within the cyclone window, so the prime months book first. The real advantage here is the legal route: Mauritius lets foreign couples marry in a binding civil ceremony with only a short stay beforehand and documents lodged in advance, which most resorts will help arrange, so unlike much of the region, the wedding on the beach can be the legal one, with no second ceremony waiting at home.
